An erotic suspense film based on a classic mystery novel by Edogawa Rampo, newly adapted for the screen. In the district of D-zaka, the owner of a soba shop is found dead under mysterious circumstances. The police quickly rule it a suicide, but renowned detective Kogorō Akechi and his wife Fumiyo suspect foul play and launch their own investigation. As they dig deeper, the grotesque entanglement of desire, obsession, and forbidden love among those connected to the case is slowly revealed. Shoko, who drew attention through her appearance in the “Mysterious Beauty Series: Shoko’s Story”—a gravure feature in Weekly Post magazine—makes her film debut in the lead role.
